Safer Spaces to Move
Help every member feel safe, confident and welcome
Free practical resources for gym, fitness and leisure operators, designed to help you prevent harassment, train your staff, and build a facility your members can trust.
Creating safer spaces is about more than having a policy
Most operators have something in place. But having a policy and actively communicating it, to members and staff, are two very different things.
When members aren’t sure of your stance, or don’t know how to raise a concern, confidence erodes. Incidents go unreported. And the environment you’ve worked hard to build starts to feel less welcoming to the people you most want to attract.
The right tools make this straightforward. And they’re all free.
Creating safer spaces is about more than having a policy
Safer Spaces to Move is a joint initiative from ukactive and Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign. It gives gym, fitness and leisure operators the practical tools they need to respond effectively to harassment and intimidation, and to create environments where every member feels confident, respected and welcome.
All resources are free to access.
